This program is for immigration process under Express Entry. Through this category candidates who are qualified skilled trade worker and want to settle in Canada are selected for a permanent resident visa in Canada.
Skilled trades careers are labour jobs that require specific training, for example, an electrician, a carpenter etc. Thus Federal Skilled Trades Program is for people who are interested in becoming a permanent resident of Canada.

- In order to become eligible for this program, a candidate must be willing to live in any province other than Quebec because Quebec has its own programs for immigration.
Candidate must meet the following language requirement in order to qualify for this program.

To qualify this category, a candidate must have at least 3 years of full-time work experience or an equal amount of part-time work experience in a skilled trade within the 5 years before applying for this program.
That means A candidate must have worked at least 30 hours per week or at least 1,560 hours in a year.
A candidate must have worked 15 hours in a week for 24 months or must have worked 1,560 hours in a year
A candidate must have worked 30 hours in a week for 12 months or must have worked 1,560 hours in a year
Skilled work experience
Skilled trades which are currently eligible for Federal Skilled Trades Program are in two groups of the NOC named as major and minor groups
- Major Group 72: industrial, electrical and construction trades,
- Major Group 73: maintenance and equipment operation trades,
- Major Group 82: supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production,
- Major Group 92: processing, manufacturing and utility supervisors and central control operators,
- Minor Group 632: chefs and cooks, and
- Minor Group 633: butchers and bakers.
As such, there is no education requirement to apply and qualify Canada experience class (CEC) but points are given based on educational qualification.
As this program is managed under the express entry, therefore based on your educational qualification points will be awarded accordingly.
Points will be given according to your educational qualification as below:
