What is Express Entry?
Express Entry functions as a management system for applications in three significant economic immigration programs: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Using the Comprehensive Ranking System, Express Entry assesses candidates based on various human capital factors and assigns them a score.
Considerations for human capital include work experience, language proficiency, education, age, and occupation.
Candidates with the highest CRS scores have a greater likelihood of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the subsequent Express Entry round.
Upon obtaining an ITA, candidates can submit their applications to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The government aims to process Express Entry applications and issue final decisions within a six-month service standard.
